We have completely redeveloped our website and optimised it in terms of usability and the information on offer. The entire reservation process for sports equipment and activity material has been thoroughly rethought and redesigned accordingly.

You can start your booking of hire items, experiences and courses directly on the activity pages by clicking on the teaser for the product. Or you can simply start via the "Quick booking" button in the menu bar.

Secure booking & payment when booking online

  • We attach great importance to guaranteeing you a secure booking and payment. Our website complies with current security standards and your data is processed in compliance with the relevant legal regulations. You can find more information under data protection.

How we handle your personal data for bookings

  • Basically, we need your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number for your online booking. Depending on the products you have booked, we collect further data in order to provide you with the most suitable rental items. This usually involves biometric data such as height, age, gender, etc. You can find more detailed information under your desired product.

  • Your data will only be used by employees of Sport Kessler GmbH to process your booking. When booking offers provided by our partner companies, your data will also be used by the respective partner companies to fulfil the booking.  You can find further information on this in our general terms and conditions and our contract data protection

  • We attach great importance to data protection and data security. Your data will only be stored and processed in accordance with the applicable legal regulations. You can find more information on this under contract data protection

  • Your data will only be passed on if you book offers from our partner companies. Your data will not be passed on for advertising purposes. The partners only use your data to fulfil the booking. 

  • For some of our products, we have to ask about body characteristics such as weight, height or head circumference. This is all about selecting the right sports equipment. In the case of skis, even the correct adjustment of the binding. Please always bear in mind that we not only want to support you as much as possible in the enjoyable practice of your favourite sport, but also feel obliged to minimise any potential risk of accidents as much as possible.

    So don't be angry with us if we ask you about your height, for example. We certainly won't tell anyone!

  • Your data will be stored for 7 years in accordance with the retention period under tax law pursuant to Section 132 (1) BAO. They will then be deleted. 

  • We use your data to send you the newsletter. Of course, we do not pass it on to third parties.

Help and advice during your rental selection

  • Beginners: Weaker/cautious skiers/snowboarders & absolute beginners.

    Advanced: Skiers who can already ski & are skiing at a medium speed.

    Expert: Sporty skiers/snowboarders who usually prefer a higher speed and are very confident on their skis/snowboard.

    Pro: Highly sporty riders who prefer a high speed and have perfect control of their sports equipment.

  • It is best to state your normal shoe size when booking. We know how the different models of our manufacturers turn out & our staff will measure your feet again on site and will provide a suitable boot for you or the person you are booking for in the appropriate size. 

    A ski/snowboard boot should fit snugly and perfectly to ensure optimum support. If you already know that you or the person you are booking for prefers a more comfortable fit, you can specify ½ size to 1 size more if necessary.

  • For some of our products, we have to ask about body characteristics such as weight, height or head circumference. This is all about selecting the right sports equipment.   • If you would like to ride a specific ski or bike brand, simply write us a short message in the notes field when booking online. We will be happy to fulfil your request, but cannot guarantee that the corresponding skis or bikes will be available.

  • Yes, but we only have a few available, so you can't book batteries online. If you need an additional battery for your bike, please contact us in good time by email or phone.

    If you are hiring an e-bike for several days, we can also provide you with charging cables.

  • No, you can also book for all your family members/several people in one. It is important that you create each person individually or configure the desired items for them. You will then find an overview of the people and the items assigned to them in the shopping basket.

  • The payment methods/providers we offer are widely used in online trading and have high security standards. If you require further information on the security of the payment providers, please contact the relevant companies.

  • When you make your online booking, we make a binding reservation for the rental items you have booked for the period of your choice. To guarantee this, an online booking must be paid for in advance.
    Should you change your mind, you will find our cancellation conditions in our general terms and conditions.
  • You can pay by Visa or Mastercard or PayPal.

Prices, services, additional offers

  • You can find the current rental prices either in our rental shop or in our hire price list under rental.
  • In addition to our rental items, we sometimes provide equipment such as chargers, locks, mobile phone holders for bikes or rain covers for mountain buggies free of charge. We charge a deposit on site for additional equipment.

  • You can bring the winter rental items to us for waxing at any time during the hire period. We recommend waxing the skis and boards after four days at the latest.
    Other services may be subject to a charge.

  • We sell skis and bikes from our hire range.

    Did you like your hire item? Ask us in the shop whether your desired item is currently for sale.

    Do you already know that you want to buy a hire item? It's best to ask at the start of the hire period whether an item is available for you that is also for sale.




     
  • The shipping costs for the ski pass are €10.

    Sport Kessler shopping vouchers, which you can also book online and have sent to you, are sent free of charge.
    Shipping is to Germany and Austria. 

  • This DSV rent insurance can only be taken out directly when booking a rental from a sports retailer and includes the following benefits. Insurance cover is provided for breakage and theft of skis/snowboards with bindings, ski poles, ski helmets, touring accessories (skins, crampons) when used by the insured person. Insurance cover for ski theft also exists in front of the ski hut from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. only when stored in a fixed room or in a locked car. Reimbursement is up to the amount of the purchase price (max. € 2,500)! The insurance cover starts on the first day of hire and runs for 1 year. It then expires automatically. In the sports shop where the DSV Rent was taken out, any number of rental transactions are included in the premium year. Repairable damage is covered by this insurance without a deductible (scratches in the base/surface, scratched edges, etc.). Source: DSV/ Status 10/2023.

Discounts & vouchers - Benefit from early booking

  • The 3 Euro voucher is valid for children's ski or board hire items as well as cross-country sets for adults and teenagers from a hire period of 2 consecutive days. Also for a ski or board service. This only applies to the top or standard service.

    The 7 euro voucher is credited for adult ski or board hire items from a hire period of 2 consecutive days.

    If you book online, we will automatically offset the vouchers from the corresponding hire period. 

  • No. If you cancel, the voucher for the corresponding booking is also cancelled.

    Depending on when you return your rental equipment, the €4 or €8 voucher remains valid. The minimum rental period for the validity of the voucher is 2 days. 

  • The online discount depends on the period for which you book:

    Low season: 10 % online discount

    High season: 5 % online discount



     
  • No, you can redeem the sales vouchers for your purchase in our shop or for a ski or bike service.

    The vouchers cannot be redeemed for hire, booking courses or a ski pass/ski ticket.

  • You can buy the shopping voucher to the value of €25, €50 or €100 in our shop on site or online and also give it as a gift, for example. It can then be redeemed for a purchase in the local shop or for a service.

    Promotional vouchers are special vouchers that are only valid for online bookings and usually only at special times. They cannot be redeemed on site in our shop. 

  • We offer special family deals when you book ski or snowboard equipment for your child. If you book for the whole family, children up to the age of 5 receive the Kids Ski or Kids Snowboard free of charge.

    Regardless of this, we give children a free children's ski helmet as an extra when they book a kids‘ ski, kids’ ski boot, kids‘ snowboard or kids’ soft boot. 

    Our partner provider Bergschule Kleinwalsertal also accommodates families in terms of price. From a family booking of 3 people with at least 1 child and 1 adult, up to 2 adults receive the children's price. 

Online booking of ski tickets

  • Please bring proof of age in the form of an ID document for each ticket booked that is not at the adult rate and is therefore considered reduced.

    For ‘student tickets’, you will also need an official document that identifies you or the person concerned as a student, pupil, trainee, person doing military or civilian service.

    If you are unable to provide proof of the relevant entitlement, we will unfortunately not be able to issue the ticket you have booked.

  • Your data will be collected, processed and stored in compliance with data protection regulations. This enables the selected card to be produced for you.  After the card expires, this data is automatically deleted from the Skidata GmbH system. We do the same with photos. 

  • Your address data and photographs will be collected, processed and used by the member companies of Allgäu-Tirol-Bergwelt GmbH and OBERSTDORF KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN.

  • For all season and annual passes, we need a portrait photo of you in which your face or that of the person concerned is clearly recognisable. Please do not upload any photos with sunglasses or ski goggles, helmets or hats covering your face.

    For discounted rates, i.e. all those that are not adult rates, a valid proof of age, passport, identity card or driving licence is required. Please make sure that the name and year of birth of the person concerned is visible on the upload.

    If you or one of the people you are booking for fulfil the requirements for the rate for students, trainees, military service and civilians, this must be proven with a valid ID/document from the respective institution. The document should at least show the name, date of birth and a reference to the validity or date of issue.

  • In principle, we send ski passes that are included in a booking collectively to a delivery address that you specify at checkout. If you would like a separate dispatch, we ask you to book each ticket that is to be sent to a different address in a separate order. This allows you to specify different delivery addresses at checkout.  Please note that shipping charges apply for each booking and therefore delivery address.

  • In principle, we send ski passes that are included in a booking collectively to a delivery address that you specify at checkout. If you would like some tickets to be dispatched, but would like to collect other tickets directly from our shop, please book these tickets in separate orders. As soon as a booking is provided with the shipping option, we will otherwise send all cards to the delivery address specified in the checkout. 

  • We send every delivery using dispatch tracking and can provide you with the dispatch number on request. So please contact us directly by email info@sport-kessler.com or by telephone so that we can also investigate.

    If you need tickets earlier, we will be happy to reissue them for you in our shop in Riezlern. In this case, the delivered tickets will be automatically cancelled. Please note that we will not be able to refund the shipping costs.

  • From a ski pass duration of 8 days, the system stores photos on the ski pass for use and control purposes. These cards cannot be issued without a photo.

    We therefore need a portrait photo of you in which your face or that of the person concerned is clearly recognisable. Please do not upload any photos with sunglasses or ski goggles, helmets or hats that cover your face.

  • Your uploaded data, in particular your ID cards, will only be stored to check your age and therefore your entitlement to the discount. As soon as this check has been carried out and the cards have been produced, this data is automatically deleted from our system. We do the same with photos. 

  • A family group always consists of parents and their own children. Grandparents, aunts/uncles or similar constellations are not included and are not entitled to book the discounted family rates.

  • No, the Superschnee family rate can only be granted if all tickets are purchased together and at the same time.

  • he ‘Murmele/Kleinkind/Kind’ tariff for small children (see age groups shown in the product) may only be purchased together with an adult ticket, as use may only take place together with an adult who is supervising the small child. Relatives of full age who act as supervisors are included. For further information, please refer to the general terms and conditions of the mountain railways. 

Cancellation, partial cancellation, change of online booking

  • Terms and conditions and cancellation conditions create legal certainty for both contracting parties. It is therefore necessary for you to accept the relevant conditions when booking online.

  • In the event of partial or full cancellation of a booking up to 8 days before the start of the rental or course date, administration costs of € 5.00 will be charged.

    Cancellations made 7-1 days before the start date will be charged 25% of the total rental price (plus administration costs of € 5.00).

    For further information on our cancellation conditions, please refer to our general terms and conditions. 

  • Yes, you can also partially cancel your booking. The same conditions apply as for a full cancellation. 

  • If you wish to cancel, please send an email with the subject ‘Cancellation/partial cancellation of my booking with booking number ...’ to verleih@sport-kessler.com.

    In the e-mail, please note which parts of your booking you would like to cancel. We will carry out the cancellation for you, you will receive an update of your booking and a refund of the corresponding amount minus any cancellation fees via the payment method you used to pay for your booking. 

  • Unfortunately, we cannot definitely promise you a change of rental period, as it is possible that your desired item will no longer be available in the new rental period.

    However, we will do everything we can to fulfil your wishes. If you want to change the rental period, please send us an e-mail with the subject ‘Change the rental period of my booking with booking number and the desired changes ...’ to verleih@sport-kessler.com. We will then get in touch with you directly.

  • Yes, rebooking is possible on site without any problems, provided that an alternative item is available from us in the booked period. If the rebooked items are in a different price category, you can make an additional payment at our shop or receive a refund. 

  • Yes, it is still possible to change the rental period on site, provided that the booked items are still available when you extend the rental period.
    You can also shorten your hire period if necessary and receive a refund for the corresponding days. 

    If you do not use an item at all, the cancellation conditions apply, which you can find in our terms and conditions.

Cancellation or refund of ski tickets

  • A general earlier return and partial refund is not possible for season tickets, ski passes and one-day tickets. However, a partial refund is possible if you are unable to continue skiing for health reasons. In this case, please bring your ticket and a doctor's certificate to our shop and we will carry out the refund. You will receive the refund amount in cash. Please also remember to bring the so-called blocking number voucher that you received when you purchased the card. 

  • We can only extend multi-day tickets of 8 days or more. Extensions are not possible for tickets lasting less than this. It is also not possible to postpone the period of validity. 

  • Yes and no. Ski passes can always be cancelled if they have not yet been used, i.e. you either do not yet have the pass in your hands or have not yet used it at a turnstile.

    In this case, we can cancel your ticket via our webshop if you have booked online. To do this, send us an email to info@sport-kessler.com with your booking number and your cancellation request, and we will refund the amount minus a €5 cancellation fee in the same way you paid online.

    If the ticket has already been produced so that you already have it, the cancellation can only be made on site with us. Please be sure to bring the so-called blocking number receipt that you received when the card was issued. We will then check whether the card has already been used and if not, we will pay you the amount in cash minus the €5 cancellation processing fee. 

  • A partial refund can be made if you are unable to continue skiing for health reasons. In this case, please bring your ticket and a doctor's certificate to our shop and we will process the refund. You will receive the refund amount in cash. Please also remember to bring the so-called blocking number voucher that you received when you purchased the card. 

Everything you need to know about collecting your rental item

  • You always need your booking confirmation, whether digital or printed.

    If you are using your own relevant equipment, please bring this with you (e.g. ski boots) so that we can make the appropriate adjustments to the hire items. 

    You will receive the booking confirmation directly after the online booking to the e-mail address you have provided.

  • No. It is sufficient if you have the booking confirmation with you in digital form.

  • Collection before the first day of hire is possible for some hire items. We will inform you of this in the booking section of the respective item when you book online. These items can then be collected before the first day of hire from 3 pm, provided you have selected collection the day before when booking. 

  • We always keep our rental equipment up to date. We can therefore not guarantee that you will receive exactly the same equipment as last year. However, if you book the same product category again, you will receive a comparable item.

During the hire period: changing your equipment and co. 

  • You can also change our winter equipment during the hire period if alternative items are available. If you also change the product category, you may receive a refund or have to make an additional payment. It is not possible to switch between all categories. 

    Changing bikes is not normally possible due to very limited availability.

  • In principle, we always try to make an exchange possible for our winter items. Please note, however, that costs may be incurred:

    The exchange of items in the same category - e.g. if you need a different ski item within the exclusive ski category - is included in the normal booking. Also included is the exchange between items in different categories that belong to the same sport (e.g. skiing), e.g. from premium skis to exclusive skis. Here you only have to pay the category surcharge. Conversely, you will of course also receive a refund if you downgrade.

    By booking an exchange package, you can switch freely between snowboard and ski equipment and vice versa during your hire period without the scale price starting again on the first day. You may only have to pay a price increase if you upgrade the category (e.g. from Basic to Premium).

    Skis or snowboards cannot be exchanged for cross-country skiing equipment. Cross-country skiing equipment and snowshoes are therefore not included in the exchange package and must be paid for separately.

    The exchange of bikes is normally not possible due to very limited availability.


     

  • Don't panic!

    Fortunately, ski thefts don't happen often in Kleinwalsertal. On the other hand, rental skis are often swapped.
    If your skis have gone missing, it's best to come to our shop as soon as possible. We will clarify all further steps with you on site.

    Please note that we cannot insure theft via the nominal fee. You can insure your hire skis against theft via the DSV insurance, which we also offer you with your booking.

What you should know about returning your rental item

  • Mountain bikes, e-bikes and via ferrata sets must be returned half an hour before closing time on the last day of hire.

    All other hire items must be returned to the Sport & Mode Kessler shop by 9.30 a.m. at the latest on the day following the end of the hire period. 

    Please note that we will charge additional hire fees or an overdraft fee for late returns. You can find detailed information on this in our terms and conditions.

    We will also inform you again on site about the current return times. 

  • No. Rental items can only be returned during opening hours.

  • If the equipment is returned too late on the following day, we will have to charge for a further day's hire as we will not be able to hire the item on the following day.

    Please note that bikes must be returned half an hour before closing time on the last day of hire. In the event of late return, we will charge an overdue fee for the additional work involved. Further information can be found in our terms and conditions

  • No. You do not have to return the bike cleaned. However, if you have an easy way to clean your bike, we will of course be happy if the bike does not come back to us completely dirty.

Further information about your rental item

  • Helmets are not compulsory on the piste in Vorarlberg. However, we always recommend wearing a helmet on the piste.

    You can hire ski helmets from us. We also have a comprehensive range of ski helmets to buy in our shop. Expert advice included, of course. 

  • We have high quality standards for all our rental items - both in terms of maintenance and service, as well as hygiene. 

    It goes without saying that all our helmets and shoes are cleaned and thoroughly disinfected after being returned. 

  • In principle, you are allowed to ride your rental bike on all trails where biking is not prohibited and where you are confident in your riding ability.

    It is not permitted to ride in bike parks on our rental bikes.

What you should know about the depot booking

  • We can book access to your depot on any number of access cards or ski passes.

    Up to two items of equipment (skis/boards, boots and helmets) fit in one depot locker. 

  • No. For safety reasons, the depot is only open between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.

    On days when night skiing takes place on the Kesslerlift, the depot closes half an hour after the lift closes.

  • No. Unfortunately, the depots are not suitable for cross-country skiing equipment.

  • Yes, on days when night skiing takes place at the Kesslerlift, the depot closes half an hour after the lift closes.
