      Sport & Mode Kessler Shopping vouchers

      • You can get our vouchers in the shop or order them directly online here.

      • You can buy the shopping voucher to the value of €25, €50 or €100 in our shop on site or online and also give it as a gift, for example. It can then be redeemed for a purchase in the local shop or for a service.

        Promotional vouchers are special vouchers that are only valid for online bookings and usually only at special times. They cannot be redeemed on site in our shop. 

      • Our shopping vouchers are valid for a total of 5 years after purchase.

      • No, you can redeem the sales vouchers for your purchase in our shop or for a ski or bike service.

        The vouchers cannot be redeemed for hire, booking courses or a ski pass/ski ticket.

      • Yes, you can redeem HGV vouchers with us, but you cannot purchase them.

      Rental: Your special plus with us

      • If you would like to ride a specific ski or bike brand, simply write us a short message in the notes field when booking online. We will be happy to fulfil your request, but cannot guarantee that the corresponding skis or bikes will be available.

      • Collection before the first day of hire is possible for some hire items. We will inform you of this in the booking section of the respective item when you book online. These items can then be collected before the first day of hire from 3 pm, provided you have selected collection the day before when booking. 

      • You can also change our winter equipment during the hire period if alternative items are available. If you also change the product category, you may receive a refund or have to make an additional payment. It is not possible to switch between all categories. 

        Changing bikes is not normally possible due to very limited availability.

      • In principle, we always try to make an exchange possible for our winter items. Please note, however, that costs may be incurred:

        The exchange of items in the same category - e.g. if you need a different ski item within the exclusive ski category - is included in the normal booking. Also included is the exchange between items in different categories that belong to the same sport (e.g. skiing), e.g. from premium skis to exclusive skis. Here you only have to pay the category surcharge. Conversely, you will of course also receive a refund if you downgrade.

        By booking an exchange package, you can switch freely between snowboard and ski equipment and vice versa during your hire period without the scale price starting again on the first day. You may only have to pay a price increase if you upgrade the category (e.g. from Basic to Premium).

        Skis or snowboards cannot be exchanged for cross-country skiing equipment. Cross-country skiing equipment and snowshoes are therefore not included in the exchange package and must be paid for separately.

        The exchange of bikes is normally not possible due to very limited availability.


         

      • Yes, but we only have a few available, so you can't book batteries online. If you need an additional battery for your bike, please contact us in good time by email or phone.

        If you are hiring an e-bike for several days, we can also provide you with charging cables. 

      • In addition to our rental items, we sometimes provide equipment such as chargers, locks, mobile phone holders for bikes or rain covers for mountain buggies free of charge. We charge a deposit on site for additional equipment.

      • You can bring the winter rental items to us for waxing at any time during the hire period. We recommend waxing the skis and boards after four days at the latest.
        Other services may be subject to a charge.

      • You can always find our current opening hours at the bottom of our website.

        In the main season, we are there for you 7 days a week in summer and winter - as the only hire shop in the entire Kleinwalsertal.

      Pick-up, rental period and return

      • You always need your booking confirmation, whether digital or printed.

        If you are using your own relevant equipment, please bring this with you (e.g. ski boots) so that we can make the appropriate adjustments to the hire items. 

        You will receive the booking confirmation directly after the online booking to the e-mail address you have provided.

      • No. It is sufficient if you have the booking confirmation with you in digital form.

      • Collection before the first day of hire is possible for some hire items. We will inform you of this in the booking section of the respective item when you book online. These items can then be collected before the first day of hire from 3 pm, provided you have selected collection the day before when booking. 

      • We always keep our rental equipment up to date. We can therefore not guarantee that you will receive exactly the same equipment as last year. However, if you book the same product category again, you will receive a comparable item.

      • You can also change our winter equipment during the hire period if alternative items are available. If you also change the product category, you may receive a refund or have to make an additional payment. It is not possible to switch between all categories.

      • Don't panic!

        Fortunately, ski thefts don't happen often in Kleinwalsertal. On the other hand, rental skis are often swapped.
        If your skis have gone missing, it's best to come to our shop as soon as possible. We will clarify all further steps with you on site.

        Please note that we cannot insure theft via the nominal fee. You can insure your hire skis against theft via the DSV insurance, which we also offer you with your booking.

      • Mountain bikes, e-bikes and via ferrata sets must be returned half an hour before closing time on the last day of hire.

        All other hire items must be returned to the Sport & Mode Kessler shop by 9.30 a.m. at the latest on the day following the end of the hire period. 

        Please note that we will charge additional hire fees or an overdraft fee for late returns. You can find detailed information on this in our terms and conditions.

        We will also inform you again on site about the current return times. 

      • No. Rental items can only be returned during opening hours.

      • If the equipment is returned too late on the following day, we will have to charge for a further day's hire as we will not be able to hire the item on the following day.

        Please note that bikes must be returned half an hour before closing time on the last day of hire. In the event of late return, we will charge an overdue fee for the additional work involved. Further information can be found in our terms and conditions

      • No. You do not have to return the bike cleaned. However, if you have an easy way to clean your bike, we will of course be happy if the bike does not come back to us completely dirty.

      Depot: opening hours, use and more

      • We can book access to your depot on any number of access cards or ski passes.

        Up to two items of equipment (skis/boards, boots and helmets) fit in one depot locker. 

      • No. For safety reasons, the depot is only open between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.

        On days when night skiing takes place on the Kesslerlift, the depot closes half an hour after the lift closes.

      • No. Unfortunately, the depots are not suitable for cross-country skiing equipment.

      • Yes, on days when night skiing takes place at the Kesslerlift, the depot closes half an hour after the lift closes.

      Services: The most important things at a glance

      • Our ski service is there for you in the main winter season from 2 to 6 pm.

        However, you can drop off your skis in our shop in advance during our shop opening hours. 

      • Our bike service is available Monday to Friday during the shop's opening hours.

        At the weekend, we can carry out minor, urgent repairs for you, e.g. a flat tyre or a broken chain. 
         

      Ski Service

      • Our ski service is there for you in the main winter season from 2 to 6 pm.

        However, you can drop off your skis in our shop in advance during our shop opening hours. 

      • You can find all the information you need on our ski service page.

      • When and how often a ski service should be carried out depends on how often you use your skis. We recommend a service every 10 days at the latest to ensure optimum edge grip, but at least one service per season.

      • The binding should be checked at the start of each season, i.e. at least once a year.

      • We offer a pit stop. You can leave your skis with us for service until the next morning and receive a rental ski for the day.

      • A ski service is always completed by the morning of the following day in the high season. In the low season (from around mid-October to mid-December) the service takes place two days a week.

      Boot fitting

      • During boot fitting, your ski boots are adapted to your foot shape and optimised. Depending on the manufacturer, we offer ski boots with a thermo-mouldable inner boot and/or thermo-mouldable outer shell.

        We attach great importance to perfectly fitting ski boots, which is why boot fitting is included with every boot we sell.
        Information on fitting ski boots that were not purchased from us can be found under the question ‘Do you also fit third-party boots?’

      • The right ski boot size is absolutely crucial for your skiing experience.

        For this reason, we measure your foot on a scanner in our shop to determine your actual foot length and width. Our qualified staff will then work with you to find the right ski boot size.

      • When you buy a new ski boot from us, boot fitting is always included.

        Have you bought your ski boot in another shop or online and would like to have a boot fitting done? Come and see us, we'll take a look at what needs to be done and discuss the costs with you before implementation. 

      • Have you bought your ski boot in another shop or online and would like to have a boot fitting done?

        We offer boot fitting for all ski boots that can be customised using thermal processes. If you don't know whether your ski boot can be customised accordingly, it's best to contact one of our shop staff directly.

      Bike Service

      • Our bike service is available Monday to Friday during the shop's opening hours.

        At the weekend, we can carry out minor, urgent repairs for you, e.g. a flat tyre or a broken chain. 
         

      • During the ‘bike check’ your bike is thoroughly cleaned and checked. We check the following parts:

        Front wheel: Hub play, quick release/ thru axle, spokes, tyre tread, air pressure, brake pads, brake disc thickness, fork play
        Rear wheel: Hub play, quick release/ thru axle, spokes, tyre tread, air pressure, brake pads, brake disc thickness
        Stem/handlebars: Stem bolts, Ahead claw, handlebar attachments
        Frame: Attachments, saddle, quick-release seat tube
        Drive: bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, chain, sprocket, gears
        E-bike: software update, cables, display, drive functions

      • When and how often a bike service should be carried out naturally depends on how much you use your bike. If you are constantly on your bike and are out and about in all weathers, we recommend two inspections a year.

        If you have any specific problems or abnormalities, it's best to visit us straight away. For example, it is better to have a grinding brake checked early on than to accept that major repairs will have to be carried out later or that the braking performance will deteriorate.

      Interesting facts about ski passes

      • Don't panic - if you lose your card, we can block the old one and issue you with a new one. This is a free service on our part. Important: This is only possible if you keep your so-called blocking number voucher, which you receive from us when the card is issued, and then bring it with you. We need this to block the lost card and cannot issue you a new card without it.

        Our tip: Take a mobile phone photo of your blocked number receipt as soon as you receive the card. This way you can show it to us and we can use the number on it to block and reissue the card. 

      • No, season tickets as well as one-day and multi-day tickets are generally non-transferable. They are issued specifically for the person who buys them and random checks are carried out to ensure that the person using the ticket is authorised to travel with it. Therefore, please always carry identification with you. The only exception is the so-called transferable parent card. More information on this at the end of this text. 

        The Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal Ski Pass Association would like to point out that for the purpose of access control, a reference photo of the lift pass holder will be taken when passing through a turnstile equipped with a camera for the first time. This reference photo is compared by the lift staff with the photos that are taken each time a turnstile equipped with a camera is passed through. The reference photo and the other photos are deleted immediately after the lift ticket expires. It is also possible to purchase lift tickets that are technically configured in such a way that no photo is taken when passing through the turnstile, although random checks by lift staff must be expected. The applicable data protection regulations are complied with in all cases.

        The only exception is the so-called transferable parent card. This can be purchased by parents with children under the age of 6, is slightly more expensive than the card for one person, but can be used transferably between partners. You can get all the information about the parents' card directly from us in the shop. You can also purchase the card there. 

      • Of course you can. If you don't fancy a day's skiing but want to enjoy a coffee or champagne on the mountain or set off on a winter hike, e.g. on the Ifen, you can also use your valid ski pass for this. 

      • Multi-day tickets and season tickets are also valid for night skiing on the Kessler lift. No separate ticket needs to be purchased. 

      • No, the ski pass is not a bus pass. However, you get free travel on the bus in Kleinwalsertal with the Kleinwalsertal Guest Card as soon as you are a registered overnight guest in Kleinwalsertal.
